Director of strategy + creative

Lemieux Bédard is seeking a director of strategy + creative to inspire, orient, and oversee the agency's strategic and creative production. At the fore of a team of strategists and creators (art directors, graphic designers, strategists, production manager, and digital strategist), the incumbent will be responsible for developing the strategic axes of client projects, ensuring internal synergy, and harmonizing approaches and campaigns between the digital and traditional teams. The incumbent will also act as the main strategy and creative contact with clients and will present and defend ideas in addition to establishing a relationship of trust with clients.

Your mission

  • Understand and identify the client's strategic objectives and the rules that govern pharmaceutical advertising in Canada to build a creative product adapted to the healthcare market
  • Develop and maintain a project’s strategic focus, objectives, and priorities
  • Validate and unpack the client's creative briefs and communicate expectations with the strategy/creation team
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop concepts and organize brainstorming sessions
  • Galvanize action in your team by being an inspirational guide and mentoring your reports
  • Work synergetically with Client Services and other internal teams
  • Contribute to the company's business development by participating in pitches and always striving to enhance the quality of Lemieux Bédard's strategic and creative offerings
  • In collaboration with human resources, handle hiring, promotions, and performance evaluations; manage strategy and creative team salaries and scheduling
  • Participate in the recruitment and retention of new talent and broaden the agency's outreach

Your skills

  • Experience handling pharma accounts for Rx and OTC products as a strategy lead or creative director
  • Ability to manage and direct simultaneous projects as a team and under pressure
  • Interest in human and animal health
  • Human and creative resource management skills
  • Fluent in English; bilingualism an asset
  • Extremely creative, judicious, and problem-resolution oriented
  • Leadership skills; persuasive
  • Methodical, organized, and autonomous
  • Resilient and adaptive in the face of critique
  • Reliable and capable of seeing projects through to completion

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • 100% remote work from a base in Montréal or Toronto or on site in our office in Sherbrooke, or a combination of both
